Windows
- Right-Click here and select Save Target As to download the self-extracting exe file to your computer.
- Double-Click on the file you have just downloaded.
- Enter C:\ in the space provided and click on the Extract button.
This will extract all the necessary files into c:\coral-remote.
- Double-Click on My Computer on your desktop.
- Double-Click on C: drive.
- Double-Click on coral-remote folder.
- There will be a shortcut contained in this folder called Coral (CMSE-MIT).
If you wish to run Coral for CMSE, double-click on this shortcut. In addition,
You can also copy it onto your desktop and run it from there.
Linux - Redhat 32 bit
This bundle has only been tested on the 32 bit versions of RedHat 5/6.
- Right-Click here and select Save Target As to download the file to your computer.
- It is required that Remote Coral be installed in /usr/local. To do this, you must become a root user.
- Change to the directory where you have saved your downloaded file and move the file to /usr/local:
% mv coral-remote-linux32.tar.gz /usr/local/
- Change to the /usr/local/ directory:
% cd /usr/local/
- Extract and untar file.
% tar zxvf coral-remote-linux32.tar.gz
- There will be a shell script called coral-remote-cmse in the directory /usr/local/coral-remote.
If you wish to run Coral for CMSE, run this script from a UNIX shell prompt.
Linux - Redhat 64 bit

Other Platforms
Coral
is Java based and should be platform independent. However, the Coral
team has only tested the previously mentioned platforms. If you feel
you are comfortable installing computer software and plan to install
Coral on other platforms, here are the general guidelines. Detailed
instructions are not avaliable. If you are successful running Remote
Coral on other platforms, we would like to hear from you and share what
you did with others.
The following software is required to run Remote Coral.
- Java Run Time Environment - version 1.7.0_xx (aka JDK/JRE 7)
If you do not have a JRE installed on your computer or need to upgrade to JRE 7, please click here to go to the Oracle Java home page from which you can download the latest JDK/JRE 7 release.
- Go here to run Remote Coral.
The first time you run Remote Coral, you will see
something similar to the following dialog boxes.
This shows that
Java Web Start is running and downloading the Coral application.
This type of dialog box is prompting you if you want
install and run Coral Remote software which has been signed by
an Unknown source and whose digital signature has not been
verified. Despite the warning, this is legitimate so make sure the

box is checked and then click on the Run button to continue.
This is Coral
starting up.
This is Coral's login window. Use your CMSE
MUMMS username and password to login.
Upgrade Remote Coral
If you would like to upgrade or reinstall your Remote Coral bundle, simply delete the entire coral-remote directory and follow the installation instructions for your platform. For example, Windows users would:
- Delete
C:\coral-remote.
- Install Remote Coral.
